Rick and Joey Washington Saunders’ respective family histories come together in Great Falls

Great Falls, VA is one of the most beautiful areas in Northern Virginia. CNN’s Money Magazine ranked Great Falls as the No. 1 Top Earning Town in America. Coincidently, our Associate and Principal Brokers, Rick and Joey Washington Saunders’ respective family histories come together in Great Falls. The street known as Saunders Haven Court, off Seneca Road, is named after Rick Saunders’ family.  Rick’s father, a former pugilist, was a real estate investment visionary, entrepreneur and President of a very successful business, Airway Sheet Metal, in Great Falls for more than two decades.

Joey’s (short for Josephine) connection to Great Fall is illustrated in Sam Swartz’s book: The Colvin Run Mill Tract, stating that George Washington, (Joey Washington Saunders’ first cousin eight generations removed) was part owner of Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls. How cool is that? This was according to Bob Lundegard, in an article linked from the Great Falls Historical Society. Talking about a Northern Virginia Real Estate legacy, Joey and I enjoy saying: “Come do business with the first family”.

Great Falls Park, a National Park Service treasure and River Bend Park with more than 400 acres alongside the Potomac River are Great Falls Landmarks.  Riverbend Golf and Country Club is breathtaking, with its championship course and world-class practice facility. Riverbend is truly one of the finest Country Clubs in the greater Washington Metropolitan area.

Great Falls is horse country; from Lessons to Leases, Stoneridge Farms of Great Falls welcomes the equestrian-minded to a horse enthusiast’s paradise. Colonial Trail Riders, a horseback riding club, is quick to remind its visitors that George Washington rode here. Great Falls Horse Network connects horse owners and riders in the Great Falls area.  The Saddlery, of Great Falls, equips horse and rider.

We have already stated how beautiful Great Falls is and this is true any time of the year.  To keep your landscaping stunning, you may want to contact Great Falls Landscapes. Their website alone is incredible! Another outstanding feature of the greater Great Falls community is the Great Falls Soccer Club. If you love soccer you may want to contact them as well.

We saved the best for last; it has been said that: “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” and this is equally true when attracting residents and visitors to the award winning-restaurant L’Auberge Chez François of Great Falls. The articles and reviews of this restaurant are epic. The founder, François Haeringer, started in 1954 in Washington D.C. Today, François’ two sons, Paul, as Maître d' and Jacques, as Executive Chef, carry on this local legend’s culinary delights.

Well, now you see why Great Falls has so much to offer to everyone.
